John Biel-Goebel is a lifelong builder, pilot, and engineer whose curiosity about flight began when he was two years old and never stopped growing. Trained as an aerospace engineer, systems engineer, materials engineer, commercial pilot, and certified A&P aircraft mechanic, John has spent his career designing aircraft interiors, leading engineering teams, and managing complex aviation programs that push technology forward while keeping safety first.
A proud husband and father, John is married to a brilliant physician dedicated to curing neuromuscular illnesses and is the father of three children under 13 who attend public schools. Outside of work, he’s deeply rooted in service, mentoring high school robotics students, volunteering as a camp counselor for kids with muscular dystrophy, and helping deliver meals to families in need.
John’s passion for public good extends beyond his career: he founded a Philadelphia-based nonprofit to address environmental issues, worked with citizen lobby groups like ProSpace and FIRST to advance STEM and aerospace legislation, and helped craft language that became part of national policy shaping the industry’s future.
His guiding philosophy reflects both his engineer’s precision and his dreamer’s heart:

John Biel-Goebel is running for the U.S. Senate because he believes the nation has reached an inflection point, one where trust, integrity, and pragmatic problem-solving must return to government. For more than two decades, John has led complex aerospace programs where failure meant lives and safety were on the line. In that world, accountability, precision, and teamwork are non-negotiable, and he wants Washington to operate the same way.
He isn’t entering politics to join a party; he’s running to rebuild trust in the system itself. John’s campaign centers on three pillars:

John Biel-Goebel grew up in Parma (Cleveland suburb) in a working-class community that was once an automotive manufacturing hub. Raised by a nurse who taught childbirth education and a father who drove and helped run the family bus company, John learned early the value of service, hard work, and community that continues to guide him today.
John Biel-Goebel built his foundation at St. Edward High School in Lakewood (Cleveland suburb), excelling in math while balancing theater, hockey, and soccer. He earned a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, followed by master’s degrees in Systems Engineering & Quality, Engineering Management and Materials Engineering, reflecting his drive to merge technical mastery with real-world leadership.
With experiences spanning communities across America, John Biel-Goebel has lived a life shaped by service, learning, and innovation. From growing up in Parma and Parma Heights, to studying aerospace in Daytona Beach, to launching his career and civic work in Philadelphia, each chapter deepened his commitment to people and progress. In Bethesda, he mentored robotics students and raised a family, and now in Upper Arlington, he continues serving his community, volunteering, mentoring, and working to make Ohio and the nation stronger.
